Transaction Management Announces Development of Bill Payment Kiosks
“Pay All Bills Here™” is Now Available From a Self-Serice Kiosk, Empowering the Unbanked
FORT WORTH, TX and Fajardo, Puerto Rico—October 15, 2004—Transaction Management, LLC (TMLLC) showcased its new "Pay All Bills Here" self-service kiosk technology to check cashers at the annual FiSCA (Financial Service Centers of America) conference.
The "Pay All Bills Here" kiosk is designed to help the 24.1% of US households who do not maintain a bank account (according to a study completed by Celent) to pay their bills more efficiently. The "Pay All Bills Here" self-service terminal is a machine that looks similar to an ATM and allows individuals without a bank account to pay bills for local and national service providers including utilities and cellular services. The bill payment feature of the system is powered by the web-based tool known as EmpaSys™, an electronic bill payment solution from Vista Bank, Ralls, Texas, available to merchants worldwide. This platform enables a merchant to act as a payment agent, allowing their walk-in customers to pay any or all of their bills at the merchant's locations. Users have access to more than 3000 billers who are currently accepting electronic payments from "Pay All Bills Here". For billers not currently in the network, the self-serve terminal allows the user to enter biller information through the kiosk and send a payment.
Transaction Management CEO Larry Scudder said, “We are excited about the launch of this product. It’s allowing us to help our customers, such as check cashing and grocery store owners, streamline their operations to make the bill payment process more convenient. It is providing our merchants the functionality necessary to deliver more services so their customers can truly experience a one-stop shop. It’s a significant development for those who self-bank.”
As well as providing bill payment services, the terminal shown in Fajardo offered a number of other services including the issuance of prepaid Visa cards, long distance and cellular PIN codes, and wireless internet access.
“There are many services we can instantly add to the system,” stated Scudder. “It was built on WebRaiser Technology’s Total Self-Service Platform. This has enabled us to reach out to our partners and quickly add their services to the machines as well. We already have more than 12 services available for our customers to offer alongside our Pay All Bills Here™ service.”
At the show, Scudder shared his plans for the rollout of these terminals. He stated the machines are already in production and will begin rolling out in November. From private showings and two trade shows TMLLC he has received orders and commitments to rollout more than 8,000 of these terminals in grocery, convenience, pack and mail stores, check cashing facilities, travel centers, pawnbrokers and apartment complexes throughout the US and Puerto Rico. The rollouts will take place over the next 15 months.
